Safety is our top priority here at Powderpigs. We train our staff on emergency procedures and safety on an annual basis. See below for information on our procedures.
If you or your student was involved in an incident, we will contact you via your contact information found in the Brain. Whenever there is a serious medical issue, we will contact Ski Patrol first. Powderpigs is not authorized to provide anything more then basic first aid. If your student is transported to ski patrol, we will work to keep a Powderpigs staff member with them until a parent or guardian arrives to take over. We may ask you to meet your student at the Main Central Ski Patrol building, or other base areas depending on where Ski Patrol has transported the patient. Please stay calm and work with us to provide the fastest and safest solution!
Lessons Ending Early:
In the rare case of needing to end lessons early, we will notify families via social media, email and a text message (please make sure your contact information is updated in the Brain!). Please wait for official communication via one of those channels, or via an admin member. Our admin team has a radio network that allows us to stay in constant communication (with limited backup power available for this network).
If you receive notifications regarding lessons ending early, please head to your student(s) instructor sign. In all emergency/hazard situations, we train to head back to the pigpen to re-group, as long as it is safe to do so. Please do not pickup your students from anywhere other then the instructor sign, and make sure to connect with the instructor to ensure that you "sign" your kiddo out. There are very rare instances where an admin member may ask you to meet your student at a different location.
