All about Pig Chair!

What is Pig Chair?

Powderpigs utilizes a chairlift that is located directly west of our Lodge.  It is known throughout the area as Pig Chair, however on the area maps it is called “Easy Street.”  It is a beginner double chair perfect for our beginner skiers to learn how to use a chairlift. Pig chair is circled in red on the map below.

Who Rides Pig Chair?

Pig chair is open to the public! We have some guidelines for who in the ski school rides pigchair.
Beginner Students and Students under 7 years of age will ride with an adult.

Beginner students will not ride the chair until they can turn both ways and stop on command.  Beginners will be “chair checked” by an administrator to ensure chair readiness.  Sometimes this takes 3+ weeks! Every student works at their own pace.

The first run on the chairlift can take up to an hour, and that is completely normal!

When does Pig Chair Run?

Pig chair only operates when the ski school operates. It typically starts running 1.5-2hrs before the lessons start and about a half our to an hour after ski school is over. For exact timeline, check the lift report for under "easy street"
